"The location on Las Ramblas was perfect. Easy accessibility for walking, trains, buses, and a block from the taxi stand. The 24-hour continental buffet was wonderful, especially the breakfast options and complimentary beverages, including beer and wine. We were only there for two nights for a quick visit before leaving Spain, so we appreciated the convenience. We were surprised with an upgraded room because they had vacancies. I really appreciated the unexpected generosity. I loved the old-world charm. Breakfast on the small terrace overlooking the street in the dining room was enjoyable. We also enjoyed watching the soccer game in the TV area, and the patio was inviting!"

"From the charmingly appointed room (small, but normally sized for the area) to the quaint balcony, and the generously provided breakfast and all-day snacks, this was the perfect hotel for our first trip to Barcelona. Perfectly located along La Rambla across from the Catalunya Metro station, everything we wanted to see was an easy metro ride away. La Rambla never sleeps, but the rooms are well insulated and we slept wonderfully. And since we were traveling from the US, we appreciated having the charming balcony to watch the activity below as we adjusted to the time difference. I cannot say enough about the wonderful service from the staff at this hotel! So helpful with information about the history of Barcelona, places to go for fun and for tapas, as well as assistance regarding the metro. Barcelona has a fantastic metro system, which we had no experience with where we are from... The staff at Hotel Continental helped us understand how it works, which really helped us get comfortable using it! If you are looking for a hotel in Barcelona that is worth absolutely every penny (yet very competitively priced for the area), you should stop looking and reserve this one. They will take great care of you!"

"The Heart of La Ramblas"

"The location was fantastic, right on La Ramblas and within 100 yards of Plaza de Catalunya. Our room was modern, spacious, well-equipped, had a supremely comfortable bed, and was bright and airy thanks to the full-length glass doors to our balcony, where we often happily sat (table and chairs provided) while absorbing the sights and sounds of La Ramblas. Wonderful. All staff were very pleasant and helpful, particularly receptionist Viviane who greeted us like friends every time. A perfect choice. A hotel that offers free beer! Unusual doesn’t come close to describing this place. Located on a prime pedestrian street, the room and bathroom were excellent. The best equipped and most functional bathroom I had during a week-long trip in the region. The 24-hour buffet is a delight. The spaces and décor are unique. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is the furthest thing from a cookie-cutter hotel imaginable. Even without the free beer (and frozen yogurt), it can’t be recommended enough."

"Excellent location right in the heart of Barcelona. However, exceptionally quiet. Quirky building, lift to reception. Staff were amazing, showed us how to navigate the floorplan. 24-hr free food, drinks, coffee, including beer and wine. We only stayed overnight but would stay again for longer. Rooms are on the smaller side but super comfortable, bathroom clean and very functional, super comfy bed, air conditioner and ceiling fan. Lovely old building to capture the essence of Barcelona. Highly recommend for location and the experience."

“Vivian at the front desk is an amazing employee!! We were a group of 12 friends staying at the hotel together. She took such good care of all of our needs. We appreciate all of your assistance, Vivian! The free buffet (including wine, beer, and soda) all day was a nice added benefit. The location to many train stations, shops, and restaurants was great! We highly recommend you stay at this hotel!”
