We are right in the center of Barcelona, enjoying a privileged situation on 'LA RAMBLA'.
'La Rambla' runs between 'Plaza Catalunya, the central point of the city, and the old port. This street is constanly alive with people, both day and night. Filled with kiosks dedicated to selling the press, and flowers. Resturants, coffee houses and shops of every kind, not to forget the famous street actors. Walking down the 'Ramblas' various buildings of cultural interest come to our attention, including the Palace of Virreina, the 'Boqueria' market and the famous opera theatre 'El Liceo'. 'La Rambla has several different sections, which is why it is commonly known in its plural form: 'Las Ramblas. The avenue of the 'Ramblas' ends opening out to the antique port (Plaza Portal de la Paz) where one finds the famous statue of Christopher Columbus. From there a large promenade known as 'Rambla de la Mar' takes us to the area know as 'Maremagnum'. Towards the mountain from 'Plaza de Cataluny' the avenue, which ascends through 'Example' until it arrives at the Diagonal, is known as 'Rambla de Catalunya' .Near to the port is the Marine museum. The antique port has many other attractions however,as a center of leisure which includes shops, resturants, an IMAX cinema and the largest Aquarium of Mediterranian marine life in Europe . Near to the Ramblas is one of the major historical zones of Barcelona points of interest being the Barcelona Cathederal, the 'Plaza Sant Jaume'- where the Catalan Parlement and Barcelonas' town hall are housed-the small winding streets in the Gothic Area, the Raval and the Born are a joy.
